School Festivities!

On May 27th we had the school festivities. We did many things as you will just be able to see.

First of all, from 8:00 to 9:00 we had a festival of English songs, where students of 4th of the ESO and 1st of Bachillerato sang songs. They were really good at it! Here you may see some photos.

Then, the students of the whole grade could share a breakfast from 9:00 to 10:00.

At 10:00 we went to the gym to see the festivities’ speech. There were some plays and dances, and we had lots of fun! Over all while giving the diplomas to the best teachers.

Afterwards we could do different activities, like playing table tennis, play station… Or even watching a talents’ competition!

At 13:00 we cooked a “paella”, as we do each year.

Then we had the option of going home and coming back at 16:00 to play with small children.

It was a fun day!!!!

Communions

On 7th , 8th,14th,15th the first Holy Communions were held in our school.
The first Holy Communion is a very important event for the Catholics where children of about nine years old receive the Communion for the first time.
To receive the First Communion children need to have received baptism, to have attended catechism classes and to have confessed their sins.
Children have to attend catechism classes three years before receiving The First Holy Communion.
The lecturers of these classes are the childrens parents
For this important occasion children wear special clothes. Boys usually wear dark suits and girls wear white dresses. All the children take part in the ceremony. After the mass families and friends gather for a lunch. Then children their gifts.

In general it is a joyful day which children are looking forward to.

Tarragona

The last three days before the Easter holidays, we made a trip to Tarragona. The first day, we left Salamanca at 6 A.M. We made a long, but not boring, travel to Salou, were our hotel was placed. Before arriving in Salou we stopped at the “Delta del Ebro”, when we were “perchando”, the typical way of sailing in the Delta which consists in boosting on the ground with a stick. When we arrived we had dinner and although we were very tired, we went to the beach to play different games and after that we were at the disco of the hotel for a while, so when we reached the bed, we fell asleep immediately.

The next day in the morning we visited the Delta by ship, later we did a route on a bike. In the afternoon we visited Tarragona, a very interesting Roman city. At night we went again on the disco and then we went to sleep.
The next day we visited Port Aventura. We were at Port Aventura all the day and we could ride most of the attractions like the Dragon Khan or the Stampida. We came back to Salou to have dinner and at 9 P.M. we entered the bus and travelled back to Salamanca.
